Specter Shows How It's Done
Democrats are terrible at pinning Administration officials down. Just terrible. Thomas Young writes about the pathetic legalistic hopscotch they do over at LeadOrGetOutOfTheWay, an insider blog. Dems know that the Bush crony is going to avoid the question, confuse the issue, change the terms, run out the clock, and generally obfuscate to the point of the Chewbacca Defense if need be.
So, guys, keep it simple and keep it stupid. Here's how it's done:

Republican Senator Arlen Specter shows the Democrats exactly how they should proceed. Specter chose to pass it by. But Democrats, you should pursue. And then they vomit flack, pause, and ask the EXACT SAME QUESTION AGAIN. ¶ 8:05 PM

"Ok. Back to illegal wiretapping. Did the President break the law in authorizing unwarranted wiretaps of US citizens--YES or NO?After the first twenty seconds of bullshit, stop the witness and say, "Okay, maybe you misheard my question, how about this..."
Did the Telecoms break the law in performing these wiretaps--YES or NO?"
